For more information, please call (727) 442-5121 or e-mail safety@safety.org

Suncoast Safety Council now offers OSHA-required training for mobile scaffolds (scissor lifts). This training is required for anyone who performs work while on a scissor lift and is highly recommended for workers who are involved in erecting, disassembling, moving, operating, repairing, maintaining, or inspecting scissor lifts. The class is approximately 2.5 hours in duration.

The class will cover:

  • The nature of mobile scaffold hazards.
  • Correct procedures for dealing with electrical hazards and for erecting, maintaining, and disassembling fall protection systems and fall object protection systems.
  • Proper use of the scaffold, and the proper handling of materials on scaffolds.
  • Maximum intended load and the load-carrying capacities of the scaffolds.
  • Correct procedures for erecting, disassembling, moving, operating, repairing, inspecting and maintaining mobile scaffolds.

Certificate Issued:

A mobile scaffold training certificate will satisfy OSHA's Mobile Scaffold (Scissor Lift) training, 1926.454 requirement. However, employers are still responsible to train workers on the conditions and hazards of individual job sites.

Schedule:

Scissor lift training classes are taught throughout the Tampa Bay, Clearwater, St. Petersburg, Sarasota, New Port Richey and Bradenton areas. Courses are taught in class at our Clearwater or St. Petersburg locations or on-site at your company. Please contact us for more information. Travel expenses may apply.

Noise-induced hearing loss is one of the most common occupational diseases. Always wear your recommended equipment to prevent hearing loss (canal caps, earplugs or earmuffs), which may vary depending on the noise level and work environment. If you are uncertain, ask. If you have to shout over noise to be heard on or off the job, that noise could be damaging your hearing.
