CPR / AED & First Aid Training
CPR and First Aid classes now offered weekdays, weeknights & weekends!
Suncoast Safety Council conducts CPR and First Aid classes throughout the Tampa, Clearwater, St. Petersburg, Sarasota, New Port Richey and Bradenton areas. Courses are either taught in class at our Clearwater or St. Peteresburg locations or on-site at your facility.
All CPR and First Aid students will learn to recognize a life threatening emergency, provide basic life support, and determine how to respond if there is an airway obstruction or choking. Students will also learn the signs and symptoms of injuries and sudden illness.
CPR / AED Class - For Community and Workplace (click for info / registration)
This program will help employers meet OSHA and other federal and state regulatory requirements for training employees how to respond and care for medical emergencies at work. This training program is designed for individuals in the workplace and community that require or desire basic CPR and AED skills. This program is not intended for persons in the healthcare field. BASIC FIRST AID (click for info / registration)
This program is designed for individuals in the community that require or desire a basic knowledge and first aid skills. This new Basic First Aid for Community and Workplace will help employers meet OSHA and other federal and state regulatory requirements for training employees how to respond and care for medical emergencies at work. Participants learn to apply first aid skills to save lives and reduce recovery time. It is recommended for emergency response teams in business and industry, school bus drivers, adult residential care personnel, childcare workers, teachers, parents and babysitters. - $30.00

This combined training program is designed for individuals in the workplace or community (not healthcare professionals or professional rescuers) who desire or are required to be certified in CPR-AED and Basic First Aid for adults,children and infants. Price: $65.00
CPR PRO - For Healthcare Professionals (click for info / registration)
American Safety & Health Institutes CPR for the Professional Rescuer program is designed for individuals in the healthcare and professional rescuer field that are required to have professional-level Basic Life Support training.Students learn to recognize a lifethreatening emergency, how to provide basic life support and what to do in case of an airway obstruction or choking. CPR PRO has been approved for training for Emergency Medical Services personnel and is accepted by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT). Price: $65.00
CPR PRO REFRESHER (click for info / registration)
CPR PRO refresher training is intended for healthcare professionals who hold ASHI CPR PRO certification that will expire soon or for those who feel they need to update their skills to be more confident in emergency situations. If your current ASHI certification has expired, or if you currently hold a certification other than ASHI, you are not eligible for this refresher course. Participants must have their current ASHI card with them for this training. Price: $40.00
BLOODBORNE PATHOGENS (click for info / registraion)
ASHI Bloodborne Pathogens awareness program includes information that will help students understand what Bloodborne pathogens are and how risks of exposure can be reduced for themselves and others. The program assists in satisfying the training requirements of the U.S. Department of Labor, OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens Standard. BBP is recommended for any employee who has a reasonable anticipation of contact with blood or other potentially infectious materials because of performing designated job duties, including but not limited to, healthcare workers, public safety personnel,housekeeping and custodial workers, educational and correctional workers, and first aid providers. ASHI Certified CPR + First Aid Training (OSHA-Compliant)
Suncoast Safety Council teaches the American Safety and Health Institute (ASHI) CPR & First Aid Training program which provides CPR & AED Certification is for 2 years and First Aid Certification is for 3 years (Red Cross is only valid for 1 year for CPR & AED).
The ASHI CPR & First Aid class satisfies OSHA Regulation 1910.151 wich states: “In the absence of an infirmary, clinic or hospital in near proximity to the workplace which is used for the treatment of all injured employees, a person or persons shall be adequately trained to render First Aid.”

Record Keeping: All participants receive certificates of completion and/or wallet cards for successful completion of coursework. Competency tests are administered to document proficiency. The Council maintains back-up copies of all training documentation.
