Worker Safety

CPR, AED & First Aid Training

Learn to recognize a life threatening emergency, provide basic life support, and what to do if there is an airway obstruction or choking. Students will also learn the signs and symptoms of injuries and sudden illness. Through American Safety and Health Institute our CPR & AED Certification is for 2 years, First Aid Certification is for 3 years (Red Cross is only valid for 1 year for CPR & AED).

OSHA Regulation 1910.151 states: “In the absence of an infirmary, clinic or hospital in near proximity to the workplace which is used for the treatment of all injured employees, a person or persons shall be adequately trained to render First Aid.”

Open classes are available monthly at Suncoast Safety Council, or you can arrange for class at your company. You can take the classes separately, or take two the same day.

Check our Training Calendar or call us for information: 727-373-SAFE (7233), Ext. 315

Reasons to Train Onsite

Savings: Eliminate travel time and expenses for staff. The more employees we train, the less it costs per employee.

Customized: OSHA requires site-specific training for compliance and requires your employees to be trained on their own machinery.

Flexible: You choose the date, time and location. Our trainers are available workdays, evenings and weekends. Training can even be presented in modules to meet your shift challenges.

Experience: Even competent safety professionals can't be expected to be knowledgeable on all safety topics and training requirements. Our instructors have been carefully chosen for their experience, as well as their years of formal education.

Record Keeping: All participants receive certificates of completion and/or wallet cards for successful completion of coursework. Competency tests are administered to document proficiency. The Council maintains back-up copies of all training documentation.
