Workplace Safety Inspections and Consultations

Safety Inspections

Routine safety inspections are key tools in preventing accidents, injuries and regulatory violations. Whether you do or do not have a safety staff, an outside inspection can discover hazardous or non-compliant conditions at your workplace you may not be aware of or have become accustomed to. Suncoast Safety Council's Workplace Safety Inspection and Report can identify hazards and recommend safety solutions tailored to your company's needs.

Our experienced occupational health and safety consultant will consider your company mission, your company processes and your staffing and financial requirements. We recognize you have a job to do - working with you, we will arrive at a customized set of solutions to enhance your company's safety program. We are not affiliated with or report inspection results to OSHA.

Areas of inspection focus include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • PPE - eyewear, respirators, gloves, footwear, hearing protection
  • Hazardous materials usage & storage
  • HazCom program
  • Electrical hazards
  • Machine guarding - amputation prevention
  • Powered hand tools
  • Slips, trips and falls - walking/working surfaces
  • Smoking/eating/drinking in hazardous areas
  • PIT
  • Fire prevention
  • Escape routes
  • Restroom and breakroom conditions
  • Housekeeping

On-Site Safety Consultations

Suncoast Safety Council knows how important it is to have the right information, especially regarding safety compliance. An on-site consultation is not an in-depth safety inspection, but a chance for our occupational health and safety consultant to visit your operation and discuss safety issues that are important to you.

Consultations can be used as initial visits to help determine your "big picture" needs, discuss your concerns about particular topics or provide insight into your overall safety challenges and programs.

Please call 727-442-5121 or e-mail for more information regarding our safety consultations.

Onsite fees may apply.

Reasons to Train Onsite

Customized: OSHA requires site-specific training for compliance and requires your employees to be trained on their own machinery.

Flexible: You choose the date, time and location. Our trainers are available workdays, evenings and weekends. Training can even be presented in modules to meet your shift challenges.

Experience: Even competent safety professionals can't be expected to be knowledgeable on all safety topics and training requirements. Our instructors have been carefully chosen for their experience, as well as their years of formal education.

Record Keeping: All participants receive certificates of completion and/or wallet cards for successful completion of coursework. Competency tests are administered to document proficiency. The Council maintains back-up copies of all training documentation.
