Suncoast Safety Council's Local Government Membership program is a way for your county or city to organize all its departments under one Safety Council membership. Instead of having each department in its own program that's generally not shared with its sister units, this would help improve coordination between them.

This program will help you maintain and further develop safety programs across the board and help develop uniform safety practices whenever possible.

Here's how it works:

  • One county or city department ensures continuity between departments
  • One department coordinates training and safety council support when needed for several units at one time
  • One department would be responsible for paying Suncoast Safety Council invoices
  • Each department would appoint one or more points of contact to coordinate its individual needs
  • The safety council maintains a training record of employees that can be followed whenever they transfer or are shared between departments

Once a county or city is a program member, they can take advantage of these benefits:

  • Substantial savings on occupational safety training & consulting services
  • Free unlimited access to our Online Safety Video Library for all departments
  • Free on-site consultations each membership year (per enrollment type)
  • Customized on-site training & seminars
  • Free telephone safety consultations
  • Discounts on driving programs for all their employees and immediate families
  • Free Driver Performance Analysis System (DPAS) evaluations each membership year (per enrollment type)
  • SSC's Monthly Safety Sentinel E-newsletter
  • Member Certificate

As always, our professional staff is here to assist with your occupational safety and health questions and digital needs. Please feel free to contact me directly at 727.608.2948 or email me at emaurer@safety.org.

Suncoast Safety Council looks forward to a partnership with you and providing quality online safety training and services for you and your employees in the future.

Reasons to Train Onsite

Customized: OSHA requires site-specific training for compliance and requires your employees to be trained on their own machinery.

Flexible: You choose the date, time and location. Our trainers are available workdays, evenings and weekends. Training can even be presented in modules to meet your shift challenges.

Experience: Even competent safety professionals can't be expected to be knowledgeable on all safety topics and training requirements. Our instructors have been carefully chosen for their experience, as well as their years of formal education.

Record Keeping: All participants receive certificates of completion and/or wallet cards for successful completion of coursework. Competency tests are administered to document proficiency. The Council maintains back-up copies of all training documentation.
